Wolfgang Schardt

Wolfgang Schardt doesn’t like talking about himself. He doesn’t have to either – his photos speak for themselves. The German photographer has worked with many Michelin star chefs, including the legendary three-star chef Eckart Witzigmann, and Christian Rach who taught him the secret of a really good green curry. He is one of the pioneers of Mystic Light photography. His secret: “Natural light whenever possible, a lot of texture and little colour.”

Wolfgang Schardt is known for his eclectic taste and for the wide range of his work. Like many top photographers, he loves to cook. When he’s not in his Hamburg studio he is most likely in his kitchen where he finds inspiration at the stove. He creates dishes as varied as Kaiserschmarrn, an Austrian dessert, and tuna sashimi.
