When Eva Gründemann started as a designer for functional sportswear in the 1990s she did not think at all about food photography. Nevertheless, she had developed a passion for food from all over the world during her business trips to Asia.

She discovered her vocation for food photography by accident when she tested the functions of her first DSLR camera, using food as the subject. Meanwhile, she is not only photographing food but also writing about her experiences with vegetarian food on her blog, where she is also trying out her mum’s recipe collection from the 1950s.

A lover of vegetarian food, Eva presents the food in her photos as naturally as possible. It’s even possible to eat the food when the photo shooting is over. All shots are taken using natural light whenever possible to give her photos a fresh, light and natural look.
